An Internship Marketplace
Like the real thing — an unfair acceleration boost for your team.
Reliable, motivated student talent — matched to your startup's real needs.
We do the scoping, the matching, and the setup. You get capable support without the overhead.
The Problem
You're wearing every hat. You have real projects that need real bandwidth — but traditional hiring is slow, expensive, and way too heavy for the stage you're at.
Posting jobs, screening candidates, onboarding — weeks of effort that often leads nowhere for early teams.
You need skilled, flexible support — not a full salary commitment before you've found your footing.
You know you need help — but turning your to-do list into an internship project? That's where things stall.
We match you with a motivated, vetted student and help design a scope that actually works — for both sides.
Is Nitro Right For You?
How It Works
We talk through your company, your goals, and where a student could make a real impact. No prep required — just 30 minutes of your time.
Based on your needs, we build 1–2 project scopes with clear deliverables, required skills, and time expectations. You review and approve before anything moves forward.
From our curated network of motivated students, we identify candidates whose interests, skills, and availability align with your project.
You get a clear scope of work, a brief contract that aligns expectations, and a committed student ready to contribute. We stay available throughout if anything comes up.
Project Areas
Nitro interns work on real projects with real ownership. Here's a snapshot of what they've taken on across our partner startups:
Our students are digital natives who live inside AI tools — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Notion AI, and more. We're building a training track so Nitro interns don't just complete tasks: they build documented workflows, SOPs, and sustainable processes that get handed off to your team or future hires.
Several founders have already flagged this as exactly what they need. It's in the roadmap — and early beta partners will shape what it looks like.
The Logistics
From the Founder
For nearly a decade I've worked with two very different groups — early-stage startups navigating growth, and high-achieving students navigating their future. Both were looking for the same thing: a meaningful connection that moved the needle.
I'd been making those introductions informally for years. Nitro is what happens when you build a system around something that already works.
Every match I make is intentional. I know the founders I work with. I know the students I place. That's not something a job board can replicate.
In Their Words
"Working with our Nitro intern has been a great way to make sure our experience is headed in the right direction. Her quality and timeliness of work helped us exceed our outreach goals — which is essential to our growth."
Jonathan M. — Founder & CEO, Fitalyst
Techstars-Backed
"This internship exposed me to how a real business runs and helped me build relationships I wouldn't have had otherwise. I learned that work doesn't have to be rigid — it can be flexible and genuinely rewarding."
Sydney A. — Student Intern, New York

FAQ
More details around compensation are discussed during your discovery call, where we can align on what works for both the startup and the student. Many of our students are prioritizing experience, portfolio building, and references at this stage — but we'll make sure expectations are clear and fair for everyone before any match is made.
Both. We work with highly motivated high school students and college students (all 18+). The right fit depends on the complexity of your project and the type of support you need — we'll talk through this on your discovery call and match accordingly.
We keep it light. The main ask is a 30-minute weekly sync with your intern — that's the anchor for the engagement. Beyond that, you should be responsive over email or Slack when questions come up. We handle the scoping, matching, and structure so you're not starting from scratch.
That's exactly what the discovery call is for. A lot of founders come in thinking they don't have anything clean enough to hand off — and we help them see what's actually there. If it's not the right fit yet, we'll tell you that too. Book a call and let's figure it out together.
Once we've had a discovery call and agreed on a project scope, we move into matching. Timeline depends on finding the right student fit, but we aim to have everything in place within a few weeks of your call. We'd rather get the match right than move fast for the sake of it.
We stay involved. If something isn't clicking — communication gaps, misaligned expectations, scope creep — reach out and we'll work through it. The scope of work and contract are designed to prevent most issues before they start, but we don't disappear after the introduction is made.
No — most of our internships run fully remotely. If you're based in LA or New York and would love someone local for occasional in-person work, we can factor that into the matching process. But remote-first is the default and it works well.
Real experience on real projects — the kind that stands out on college applications and resumes. Students also receive a reference letter at the end of a successful engagement, and many have used their Nitro experience to land competitive programs and opportunities. For high school students especially, this is often their first real look inside a growing company.
